Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

All journals published by Science Research Publishers adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), accessible at http://publicationethics.org/. Our commitment is to uphold the highest ethical standards in publishing, with a firm stance against all forms of unethical behavior, including plagiarism.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors, Editors, and Reviewers

  1. Authors:
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original and properly cite or quote any work or words of others. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate accounts of their research with objective discussions. Sufficient detail should be provided to allow replication of the work.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors should be prepared to provide access to raw data for editorial review and retain data for a reasonable time post-publication.
  • Multiple Publications: Manuscripts must not be submitted to more than one journal simultaneously or describe the same research in multiple journals.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgement of others’ work must be given.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and financial support for their research.
  • Fundamental Errors: Authors are required to promptly notify the journal of any significant errors discovered in their published work and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
  1. Editors:
  • Publication Decisions: Editors make publication decisions based on peer reviews, journal policies, and legal requirements related to libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
  • Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual content without regard to the authors’ personal characteristics.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submissions, sharing information only with appropriate parties.
  • Dealing with Unethical Behavior: Editors follow COPE guidelines to address any unethical behaviour.
  • Retraction Policy: Adherence to COPE Retraction Guidelines is ensured.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials in submitted manuscripts will not be used by editors for their own research without explicit consent.
  1. Reviewers:
  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers assist in editorial decisions and improve manuscripts through feedback.
  • Promptness: Reviewers unable to promptly review should notify the editor.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts under review must be treated confidentially.
  • Objectivity Standards: Reviews should be objective, avoiding personal criticism, and providing clear, supported arguments.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant works not cited by the authors and notify editors of any substantial similarity with other works.
  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must not use privileged information for personal gain and avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Ethical Considerations for Research Involving Humans and Animals

  • Human and Animal Rights: Studies must adhere to ethical standards, and articles involving clinical or animal research should include a statement of compliance with ethical committees. Editors may reject submissions if ethical standards are not met.
  • Informed Consent: Authors must obtain informed consent from participants when publishing identifiable information and ensure privacy is maintained.

Data Sharing Policy

PAKISTAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PUBLISHER Journals advocate for transparency in research by encouraging data sharing, including raw data, software, protocols, and methodologies, to foster replication and validation of research findings.

Responsibilities and Duties

Authors:

  • Authorship: Authorship should reflect individuals' contributions to the work. Changes in authorship after acceptance must be justified and consented to by all authors.
  • Copyright: Authors warrant the originality of their work, affirm it is unpublished, and ensure proper permissions for copyrighted materials are obtained.

Editors and Publishers:

  • Misconduct Prevention: Steps are taken to prevent and address research misconduct.
  • Corrections and Retractions: Editors are willing to publish corrections and retractions as needed.

Reviewers:

  • Confidentiality and Objectivity: Manuscripts should be reviewed confidentially and objectively, with clear communication of conflicts of interest.
